Our People
Jake joined Rock in the origination team in June 2022. Jake has a Masters in Mechanical Engineering and over 8 years’ experience in the commercial vehicle sector, primarily focused on vehicle electrification systems. Jake brings experienced knowledge of Li-ion battery systems and vehicle electrification and will primarily support the Rock Road business, covering all aspects of engineering work.
Jake previously worked at Cummins New Power Business Unit in both the US and UK, where he led the global marketing and sales function for battery development for both high and low voltage Li-ion batteries, and held roles in product management, business development and new product development for vehicle and battery development.

Transport
- Rock Road London – led the successful bid and implementation of 30x Wrightbus Electroliners operating on London’s 111 route
- Gillig Electric Bus – Led the marketing, sales and new product introduction programme over a 4 year development cycle for Cummins to supply HV Li-ion batteries.
- 19T DAF Electric – Led a small team to electrify the UK’s first medium-duty truck with in-house battery and powertrain development
- 1.9T Hyundai Excavator – Led a multi-functional team to electrify 5x mini excavator prototypes using 44V modules for global field trials.
Battery Development
- 74 kWh Battery Development – Led the marketing and sales function for serial production of the BP74. Launched in 2019 with over 1200 batteries produced and supplied to Gillig Bus in the North American transit market
- Battery Development – Developed the product roadmap for battery development for Cummins New power across HV and LV battery strategy covering 30, 74, 95 and 8 kWh batteries.
