The Mersey Gateway project has been awarded European Infrastructure Deal of the Year at the EMEA awards. In the citation for the award, it was noted that the scheme was innovative, with a unique financing structure.
Mark Swindell of Rock Infrastructure, lead for Rock Infrastructure on the project and Commercial Director of the Mersey Gateway procurement, said:
“We are delighted that Rock was able to help Halton Borough Council through a successful procurement, and that this has been recognised at the EMEA awards. The creative and flexible mindset brought to the project by the whole team ensured that a vital scheme was able to get off the ground at a time when traditional procurement methods have failed.”
