Flash mob brightens up London Bridge commute in support of Railway Children

Rock Rail

Commuters were taken by surprise and entertained yesterday as Rock Rail and other rail industry supporters formed part of a flash mob choir to raise awareness for Railway Children

The flash mob, sponsored by Southeastern, lifted the spirits of rush hour passers-by with a moving rendition of ‘Lean on Me’.

The event was organised to raise awareness for Railway Children charity and support the many vulnerable children without a home go to this winter. The Railway Children charity provides protection and opportunity to children at risk on the streets and railways of the UK, India and East Africa.

Spreading a little happiness and Christmas cheer, the choir were led by well-known choirmaster James Hawkins, the man behind the Missing People choir that enjoyed charity success last year.

Yesterday’s group, made up of station staff and rail employees along with other supporters of the Railway Children including Rock Rail, gave a rousing performance that was enjoyed by those on their way home from work as well as shared with several thousand more online.
